Cruising into Ol'Blighty

Sailed across the English Channel with Brittany Ferries on the Bretange. Three restaurants to choose rom two movie rooms, a games room, shops etc plus cabins & lounge rooms where our seats were. Didn't spend much time there as sat on deck in sun or ate in the cafe area using the wifi or watching UK tv as the Greens, Labour & Conservatives announced their policy platforms in the run up to the snap elections. Theresa May doing a great deal of scaremongering with respect to Jeremy Corban. Green co-leader Caroline Lucas was inspiring as she spoke about the Green vision for UK' future.

Perfect weather to sail across past the various islands and into Portsmouth. Arrived 6.20pm UK time & went through immigration smoothly. Found our AirBnB for the night - lovely young couple planning a 3 week holiday to NZ in Feb 2018 so we shared a few tips.
Had a wander round the area as the evening was balmy - the architecture & ambience so different from French towns/cities. Popped into a Sainsbury's to buy an orange & popcorn! Phoned Sheila Greene to arrange things for our Tuesday arrival in Amesbury then to bed we went.

England - here we are!!

  1. Love Portsmouth - my Dad was in the Royal Navy for many years. I remember seeing HMS Victory as a kid and again in 2006. The Mary Rose is now on display at the Dockyard - belonged to Henry VIII. Have fun ladies!!
